Kristin Marie Shepard, called Kristin, was the sister of Sue Ellen Ewing. She betrayed her with her own husband J. R. and got pregnant. But J. R. only used her for his own purposes and she shot him. He survived. When he learnt it was Kristin who shot him and wanted to call the police she told him about her pregnancy and he changed his mind. Kristin had to leave Dallas and she went to Knots Landing.
When she got in trouble with the police she phoned Valene and Valene helped her out and Kristin lived in the house of Gary and Valene Ewing.
When she tried to break the marriage of Kenny and Ginger Ward Valene got angry about her. She then told her about her pregnancy. Gary did not trust her and Kristin left.
Later Bobby Ewing learned that Kristin had a son, but not from J. R.. She had lost the baby of J. R. She met Jeffrey Farraday, got pregnant again, married him, but kept her maiden name. When she gave birth to her son seven months later she gave him her maiden name and not the name of her husband, his real father. She called him: Christopher Mark Shepard.
